The lifestyle, the vision, the everyday poetry of life that is not always seen and sometimes forgotten. ‘Shadows on the Sands of Time’ is a luxurious Interior Lifestyle collection reflecting life and the subsequent beauty of what is left behind.
Final year project
Shadows on the Sands of Time
'August Shadows' and 'Detour'
'August Shadows', a hand-painted block pattern screen- printed on wool delaine. Inspired by shapes found in summer shadows. The beauty of what's behind is also entirely In the present. 'Detour', a hand-dyed and screen-printed silk scarf inspired by a boat detour on Lake Como, styled as a top.
'Shadows on the Sands of Time'
'Shadows on the Sands of Time', a four-metre sheer curtain to be seen blowing in the Mediterranean breeze. This is a screen-printed repeat pattern on hand-dyed cotton muslin. Inspiration is taken from all aspects of my concept, to bring together used ideas and create an entirely new design.
'Tide times', 'Subsequent sun', 'Grandads stripes'
Digitally printed and hand-painted cushions on 100% linen and cotton twill. The 60x60 cushions are reversible revealing a different colour way and print behind.
'La Dolce Vita'
'La Dolce Vita', is a two-layer screen-printed tapestry with hand-painted details on naturally dyed, hand-loomed cotton. Inspired by my grandparent's vibrant film photography of their happy travels.
'Back to Bellagio'
'Back to Bellagio' is an oversized sarong digitally printed onto silk twill. Inspiration comes from photography from my trip to Italy with friends, and going back to the places my grandparents once loved. This is in contrast to my 'La Dolce Vita' design, where imagery was inspired by their photography in the same place. 'Back to Bellagio' has a more graphic and modern aesthetic.
'Oar above Garda'
'Oar above Garda', a three-metre half drop repeat pattern screen- printed on cotton linen. Inspired by my grandmother's painting of a canoe gliding across Lake Garda, my own film photography, and observational shell drawings. This design is visualised on three panels, suitable for shade and privacy by a pool.
Shadows on the Sands of Time 'Mood- board'
This concept and colour board show a strong inspiration for my collection.
'Boat trip'
'Boat trip', the sister print to 'Detour'. A hand-dyed and screen-printed silk scarf to be styled as a top, headscarf, or tote bag accessory.

Work Experience
Fairbairn and Wolf Studios: Sep-Dec 2020
During the pandemic, I worked remotely as a drawing intern for Fairbairn and Wolf studios. I spent three months creating hand-drawn commercial designs to be sold to fashion brands. I massively developed my drawing skills and built a successful body of work, some of which was sold. I learnt how to work in a fast-paced environment, and met the high expectations and quality needed.
French Connection: Jan-April 2021
I was given lots of responsibility in this role as a Womenswear Design intern, working alongside the head designers and creative director to help design garments for SS22. I mostly developed my CAD skills and designed colour and print packages, as well as navigated PLM, their online database. It feels very rewarding to now see designs I played a big part in throughout their stores.
Secondhome Interiors: April- July 2021
I gained a variety of different skills during my time with this local company. I took lots of responsibility and was able to get fully involved with project briefs. I worked closely with Kristell, the director, mostly designing ski chalets in the French Alps. Initial concepts, mood boards, 3D visualisations, floor plans, logistics, and fabric/ furniture sourcing were my main tasks. I had to use French websites and communicate with French clientele. I got an overall insight into the high-end rental/ property industry.
