I approach design from a hands on perspective. I'm always in the workshop knocking up models for testing.

Remixing Music Education
Remix
In 2018, exam boards introduced DJing into the GCSE music syllabus. Since then there has been a large uptake in the number of students specialising in DJing for their GCSE music performance exams. However, schools have faced a number of issues, such as large class sizes and music teachers only having classical music training. This project focused on teaching the skills required to DJ in a portable DJ controller that emulates the experience of traditional full-scale DJ Decks.
AR Guided Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation
The image above shows the outcome of a week-long design sprint, which aimed to improve mobility in users with mobility issues through neuromuscular electrical stimulation.
Primary and secondary research identified that the main problem with existing products was that users struggled to place the pads in the correct place. This incorrect placement caused ineffective training of muscles and the potential for injury. The use of an augmented reality (AR) app to guide the user to place the pads in the correct position enabled the use of muscular electrical stimulation in a home environment.
Ultrasonic Injector
Reducing injuries in polo horses was the brief in one design-week challenge. I decided to focus on the rehabilitation of horses through a treatment called Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. The process involves a vet performing an ultrasound to identify the injured area and then injecting platelets taken from the horse’s own blood into the injured area to stimulate the natural healing process. My design combined the ultrasound transducer probe and the syringe into an all-in-one system to provide greater injection accuracy.
AR EMES Device Story Board
Working Prototype
Using a Raspberry Pi and Arduino I produced a working prototype of my final product for testing with DJing music GCSE examiners.
Design for Additive Manufacture
In this project, I designed a front and rear bike light for batch manufacture of 1000 pieces of each. My final design was the consolidation of a 5 part latch assembly into 1 ‘print in place’ assembly which was built without supports in under one hour per part.
Areo Press Mechanics/Electronics Project
As part of the Electronics and Mechanics module, we worked on a group project to develop a prototype of an automated coffee press. As part of the team, I took responsibility for the mechanical design and prototyping. I heavily used my experience in 3D printing and gained more knowledge in creating functional parts.

Work Experience
I had an amazing placement year working at The Imagination Factory in West London. I primarily worked as part of the Industrial Design team but also got involved in some technical engineering projects. I enjoyed the fast pace of a design consultancy and worked on over 10 projects. Presenting and developing ideas with the clients and seeing designs that I had worked on go into production were particular highlights.
