CONCEPTUAL DIGITAL DRAWING

Walking from Meriden Street, a waft of freshness comes over you. It's a surreal experience having the feeling of being in the middle of a mini forest within Birmingham. You run your hands through the harsh bark feeling the vertical striations. An umbrella of leaves floats above, parting slightly to allow the warm, comfortable beaming sunlight through. Walking further throughout the site, a surprise lies in wait. Arising from the green ground comes a building, a playground for children. The activity takes over the site creating a stage for memories. Laughter and voices fill the air and bring colour to the site. Children run around with faces full of joy and exuberance in their bubbles of independence. The playground provides a portal of delight where mystery can run wild.

To relax, you lie back on the lush green grass; it feels like you're floating on a fluffy cloud. The grass tickles your feet making you giggle. Walking on the undulating mounts creates an unsettling, unbalanced feeling but brings an interesting element. A wave of darkness flows throughout the site with a breeze whipping up crisp leaves. Rustling emulates from the trees, with birds chirping from within. The golden sun streams into the site. There is an air of anticipation and excitement within the area. Around one of the doors, a circle has formed; your curiosity gets the better of you, and you investigate. A passionate artist is talking about their artwork, and everyone is mesmerised.

CONCEPTUAL DRAWING

The image shows different shapes and experiences that are added together to create a unique atmosphere throughout the site.

CONCEPTUAL MODEL

This is a physical model, testing elements of the conceptual drawing to see how they are combined together to complete the site.
