James Milner (b.1999) is a sculptor, painter, poet and performance artist who makes monochrome installations with mundane found objects, typically altered to divert their former function.

Work Experience
From October 2020 to September 2021, James worked as a Gallery Assistant at Modern Painters, New Decorators, an art gallery in Loughborough. His role as Curation and Events Assistant involved overseeing the online events programme, attending 'crits' and building relationships with new members for MPND's membership programme, assisting with the delivery of MPND’s visual arts programme, writing press releases and exhibition texts, and assisting with the day-to-day running of the gallery space.
Since June 2021, James has worked part-time as an Artist Assistant for Selene States. His main role has been preparing and translating archival Bauhaus dress patterns into digital patterns. He also assists in the development of Selene's studio practice as well as running any necessary errands.
