Water marbling to replicate natural forms and patterns.
My practice this last semester has been about processes and ambiguous recreations of natural forms. For my final pieces, I utilised water marbling to explore colour, pattern and texture through a variety of techniques and materials. The pieces were visually inspired by natural forms like folded mountains, salt lakes, rivers, cells or minerals under microscopes and flowers. The purpose of my work is to create images that, despite being inspired by natural forms, are open to interpretation.
