Let's Get Noughty Top Trumps Deck

People continually reminisce about their childhood and the pop culture that defined it. This was my inspiration for designing the 'Let's Get Noughty' Top Trumps deck that is aimed at 18-25-year-olds who grew up in the noughties. This new deck allows players to look back on the TV shows, games, artists and more that they were surrounded by growing up.

The image shows an example of six Top Trumps cards in the 'Let's Get Noughty' deck, the back of the cards and the instruction card. I adopted the 2000s aesthetic for the design to create nostalgia.

It was challenging to create a deck that the target audience would engage with as Top Trumps is typically viewed as a game for children. I overcame this by adding 'noughty' penalties that allow players to give out funny forfeits to their friends.

Let's Get Noughty Top Trumps Tiktok Filter

I created a TikTok filter to create a buzz around the new 'Let's Get Noughty' Top Trumps deck. TikTok is the perfect platform to promote the new deck as 18 to 25-year-olds incessantly engage with TikTok filters and share them with their friends.

The filter gives a randomised 'noughtiness' rating and has cheeky early 2000s themed graphics to promote the deck. Top Trumps will become a status symbol as more and more people find out how ‘noughty’ they are.

Let's Get Noughty Top Trumps Cards

This image displays the 'Let's Get Noughty' Top Trumps cards in the deck. The layout is in keeping with Top Trumps' existing cards, but the design follows the 2000s themed aesthetic using popular colours of the noughties such as a bright fuchsia.

Let's Get Noughty Back of Card

The image displays the design that is featured on the back of all the 'Let's Get Noughty' Top Trumps cards. The design features a retro computer with '00s' on the screen to clearly show the deck is reminiscent of the 2000s. The typography is nostalgic for old computer types to achieve the 2000s aesthetic.
