Indi - Induction Powered Portable Camping Stove
Millions of gas canisters are thrown to landfills each year. These are often disposed of incorrectly resulting in countless explosions and harmful incidents. Indi is a portable camping stove that uses induction heating to cook or boil food with renewable energy and zero waste.
Balance - AI Assisted Recovery Tool For Orthorexia Nervosa
Orthorexia Nervosa is characterised as an unhealthy obsession with clean and healthy eating. This is common amongst athletes and young adults in today’s calorie fixated society. Balance helps guide and educate users on the fuel they need for their body with the support of an AI engine which creates bespoke plans for each individual. The device assists the user in meal preparation removing the metrics from cooking and helping to disassociate food with calorie counting.
Behind Indi
Indi compromises two Lipo batteries which power an oscillator and induction coil, that in turn heat the cooking pot. Indi is capable of boiling 5 x 250ml cycles of water on one charge, making it perfect for weekend adventures.
Indi Component Parts
Indi is built up with a modular design which consists of an interchangeable battery that connects to the heating module and cooking pot.
Indi Design Process
The product was designed through an iterative design process with many stages of concept generation, testing and evaluation.
Indi's Nest Ability
The nesting capability of Indi allows for the battery and heating unit to be stored within the cooking pot, significantly reducing the form factor for easy transportation.
Indi Exploded View
Designed with sustainability in mind, all parts of the device can be accessed and interchanged, promoting repair over waste.
Balance - AI Camera Technology
Balance uses an AI engine to recognise and track food without the need for input, reducing the friction of food tracking. A compact and minimal design means Balance will comfortably fit within any household.

Makino Milling Machine Co., Ltd - Junior Design Intern
Makino Design is a design studio based in Tokyo, Japan, working in the field of CNC machine tools. I had the opportunity to collaborate on projects in all areas of the company including ideation, concept development, prototyping and visualisation. I found a specialism in UI & UX design and helped to create UI guidelines that have been implemented across the company. The success of the placement leads to an opportunity to continue working with Makino Design remotely throughout my final year.
