I am a printed textiles student creating imagery that is inspired by childhood memories and joyful moments; using bold colour, graphic shapes and collected items from my travels to reflect on my personal connection to the southwest coastline.
Final year project
'I See the Sea'
Wildflowers at Polzeath
A contemporary digital floral design on ripstop nylon inspired by the wildflowers that adorn the coastline while travelling down the north coast of Cornwall.
Beachcombers Paradise
A patchwork quilted design composed of a range of different processes; including screenprinting, digital artwork and embroidery. The designs are inspired by my family's love for Bude's beaches and collecting items along the way. Vivid contrasting colour brings my narrative to life in a functional beach quilt, perfect for relaxed beach days.
Widemouth
A five-layer screen printed cotton towel with knotted printed tassels. Inspired by walks along the rockpools at Widemouth Bay.
Beach Day
A digitally printed sketch design printed onto silk satin. The inspiration for this print was taken from my days at the beach, enhanced by the addition of text; adding a personal touch to the design by including all the areas that have shaped my childhood memories.
Summerleaze
A 3-Layer repeat screen printed design that is designed as a patchwork, pulling together elements of my memories of Bude and classic seaside motifs. Piecing these together creates a print that tells the narrative of my experiences and enjoyment of my travels.
View Across the Water
A digitally developed print that has a single layer screen print, to add detailing to the graphic imagery of the abstract landscape inspired by my collection of postcards.
Digitally Printed Samples
a selection of samples within my final collection that have been developed digitally.
A Sense of Collection
Combining my digitally developed samples alongside my screen printed designs really helps to visualise my collection and also develop ideas for application. I have combined 'Wildflowers at Polzeath' with the 'Tides' print in order to visualise how these will sit within the collection together.

Work Experience
Marks and Spencer PLC.
During my placement year, I completed a 7-month fabric sourcing internship at M&S within the womenswear department, gaining valuable industry experience within the tailoring and outerwear departments. Due to the pandemic, this was a hybrid role and required exceptional organisation and communication skills, alongside working to strict deadlines and critical path targets. This role has given me a great range of new skills and required me to work closely with suppliers and the international M&S sourcing offices to ensure that the sourcing and developments were in line with the company's deadlines and sampling requirements.
Amanda Kelly
In addition to M&S, during my placement year, I also undertook a 3-month studio internship at Amanda Kelly Design. Working in such a well-established print studio, really gave me insight into the commercial print industry, which as a print student was invaluable. I took on a range of different roles during my time at the business, working closely with the in house design team, sales representatives and Amanda and Duncan to help with the smooth running of the studio.
