Welcome to Marinia
Welcome to Marinia - an enchanted underwater world
Marinia is an underwater universe with magical creatures that help protect the marine life ecosystem. There are many unique characters, each with their own special abilities and powers. The characters have been designed with a botanical theme and refreshing colours. The most challenging aspect of this project was trying to create unique characters that were both fun as well as relevant to the theme. Although this was a challenge, it was a lot of fun too!
Tale of the Merflowers - Children's Book
The first outcome within this larger universe is a Children's book. The story features the characters - Merflowers, who live within the corals of the Great Barrier Reef. They are attacked by the antagonist - Evil Starfish, who eats away at the merflower's homes. The book creates a fictional tale to project a very real problem. The Great Barrier Reef is indeed being eaten away by the increased Starfish population due to fertilizers being washed into the ocean. The book brings this issue to light and instils values in children that they will keep with them as they grow up. (Visit: www.adithivishdesigns.com to read the full book.)
The tale of the Merflowers
Protagonist - The Merflowers
Antagonist - Evil Starfish
In extension to the Book, each character has been made into trading cards with statistics of their powers and abilities. Each card has been designed to go along with an exhibit within the Sealife Centre in Sydney. Children can go to the information centre within the exhibit to collect their trading cards. This will encourage children to visit all exhibits as well as learn about the creatures within the exhibit in an interactive way. (Visit: www.adithivishdesigns.com to see the full project)

Work Experience
Along with various commissioned projects by individual clients, I have also worked part-time as a freelance designer for Enlighten Yoga Centre. I worked alongside the marketing team to create the brand identity and unique social media creatives that capture the essence of the organisation. I have also done larger projects for them including a full 20-page catalogue and course completion certificates. My self directed project - '30 Days to Happiness', a guidebook to help lead a happy life, is also now being implemented within their courses.
I have also worked for Floob Creative Ltd, a character design company based in China. I helped design various posters, Logos, and other brand concepts for various clients during my time with them. This helped me gain a lot of experience with different styles and approaches to creating brand identity. It taught me to work in very different market industries. I also gained experience working within the corporate world.
