SAFEX uses a hanging storage unit

To accommodate renters and landlords who wouldn't allow installing a device on the wall the storage unit is made to hang on a coat hook.

Work Experience

Proctor & Gamble: July 2019-June 2020
I spent my year in the industry working as a Design Engineer intern at Proctor & Gamble. Working in R&D, on the Gillette and Venus razors brands, I was involved in the creation of a new shaving device. I did considerable work on identifying the target market and their needs including persona creation, design research, mechanical and technical development, and digital sketching. I was exposed to a wide range of design tools including Solidworks, CAD modelling, Keyshot rendering, Adobe CC packages, DFM, physical prototyping and 3D printing.
I was responsible for the roll-out of digital sketching training for all staff. In total, I trained 30 people from senior to junior levels. I found my experience as a hockey coach really helpful in being able to impart this knowledge in a positive way.
Whilst working here I also gained my Keyshot bespoke Introduction & Advanced award and my Solidworks – Advanced Part Modelling, Surface Modelling and Assembly Modelling certificate.

Loughborough University: 2017-2022
Throughout my time at Loughborough, I have worked as a Student Ambassador, representing the university at events and open days. In 2021-22, my role was extended to include working in the Covid testing centre, where I welcomed students and staff and oversaw the testing process. Helping as a front-line worker to test the entire student and staff population each week. The university received many compliments from the prospective students for my tours and as a result, I was always given the opportunity to work as many hours as I wanted.

I was the Welfare and Diversity Secretary for LSWHC, during the past year (2021-22). We had an exceedingly difficult start to the year, as one of the professional coaches died unexpectedly in a road accident. Recognising the impact of covid and of this unexpected death, I instigated that each hockey team (5 in total) should have its own Welfare Rep, rather than just having one Rep for the entire club. This decentralised model meant that Reps could ensure that all players on their team were ok and given the necessary support more easily. This was the first time, such as the approach to Welfare was adopted by a Loughborough Sports Club and the Hockey Club received an award for having the best approach to Welfare & Diversity.

In 2018-19, I was one of the Sports secretaries, at Robert Bakewell Hall. Along with 3 other Sports Secretaries, we organised more than 16 intermural sporting activities per week and special events every month. I found myself taking a leadership role within this foursome to make sure that events ran smoothly and help the weaker sports reps.
