I am an architectural designer with a desire to meet societal needs through design thinking and reimagining how the built environment operates.
My design approach focuses on what should be built, rather than simply what could be built. Therefore, the strength of my design process is down to careful consideration of the societal needs and environmental strategies appropriate to any given site/location. These help me to formulate a narrative-based solution to a design problem which may require specific architectural intervention.
I use my strengths in sketching and model-making to explore and investigate options, followed by computational design software to help me realise my ideas fully.
After graduating from the BArch at Loughborough University, I will continue on my journey to become an architect by completing a MArch at Loughborough. My aim is to develop my design thinking skills, to be better equipped to help the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry to develop more sustainable building designs, and more sustainable communities.
I worked at a small architecture practice in Cornwall for 6 months. I was exposed to a variety of projects from domestic scale residential, to larger-scale manufacturing facilities.
I worked at another architecture practice run by a sole practitioner who specialised in oak-framed buildings and worked with traditional craftsmanship to produce the organic and sustainable contemporary design.
