Spektral | Home film developing
Spektral
Spektral is a home film development solution, allowing users to feel confident in the process of developing through clear step by step interactions. It consists of the main tank which houses the daylight loading components, as well as a negative scanner where the user's phone is able to capture the developed film.
Tactile Interactions
Spektral continues the process of film photography through intentional tactile interactions, maintaining the analogue experience that users are deeply drawn to within film photography. It grounds users at the moment, allowing them to appreciate the developing process.
Digital Interactions
The scanner acts as both the location for maintaining the heat of the developing chemicals and where the developed negatives can be captured by the user's phone through a backlight panel, maintaining the desire for quality whilst remaining easy and intuitive.
Circulair
Circulair was developed in response to a design week brief from DCA asking how we might integrate a physical product into a digital service. Circulair is a modular amenities device allowing hosts to provide guests with all the necessary amenities they expect during their stay.
Circulair Ammenities
These include a wireless phone charger, steamer, air circulator, bedside light, and hairdryer, with the ability for more modules to be developed and integrated into the cirulair family.
Roots Hub
A service design project responding to a brief from the RSA on ‘How might we leverage unrealised spaces in small transport hubs as catalysis for communities and places to thrive’. Our group response, Roots, is a locally sourced ingredients delivery service based at Loughborough station, allowing students to select recipes submitted by locals on their departure for the weekend. They collect the ingredients, all delivered from the local market, on their return.
Roots Service
Once home, the student has a follow-along recipe video also provided by the local person available via the Roots app. This allows local characters to be created, repairing the damage Loughborough has suffered from studentification and a split identity between being a university and a market town.

Work Experience
(September 2020 – September 2022)
Design Intern, IBM iX
During my time at iX I worked across a range of clients and projects. These include Boots, Audi and London Fashion Week. I was responsible directly to these clients, working across UX and UI where I was able to develop a deeper understanding of the importance of both roles and how to implement design thinking across both in order to meet both stakeholder, client and user needs.
