Correct The Narrative campaign poster and sticker displayed on a wall
The text reads "They didn’t see me as a human being", this is taken from Aisha's story of how she experienced genital mutilation as a child. The artwork plays on illegibility to coerce viewers into interacting and allows them to metaphorically correct the narrative.
This work is a part of my Correct The Narrative campaign partnered with Google.
Correct The Narrative campaign's social media outcomes displayed three ways
This image portrays the ways in which users can share the work of the Correct the Narrative campaign to their own social profiles furthering the conversation.
User interacting with the Correct the Narrative campaign on their mobile device
When scanning the QR code on the physical poster the user is taken to an interactive animation that visually changes the artwork from the illegible dark starting poster to the colourful end violence against women artwork, allowing the user to 'correct the narrative' themselves.
Correct the Narrative campaign stickers in a cafe
This image intends to display how the Correct the Narrative campaign should be seen and shared all across the world in day-to-day life, like in a small corner of a cafe.
When users interact with the campaign's website they are able to download and order free images, stickers and posters so that they can further spread the campaign's message.

Awards
I achieved a first-class grade in my final year dissertation, focusing on graphic design use in US political campaigns. This is a body of work that I immensely enjoyed researching and gaining new insights into a field that is not greatly explored academically. I discovered much about the process that goes into developing the ephemera and the relationships that need to be produced between the candidate's image and their prospective voters.
