Awards

My most recent award was for producing an animation for a documentary related to Indian culture and arranged marriages. For this animation, I achieved an award from the Royal Television Society for my participation in the documentary. This was important to me as it was during my degree that I was introduced to animation and taught how to use the appropriate software.

During my placement year, I took this time to learn ways to independently excel and gain further knowledge, by which I received two certifications. One of these certifications was awarded by Boston Consulting Group, for completing the Virtual Experience Program in 2020, completing tasks such as Strategic Design - User Research and Experience Design - The User Experience. I also received certification for Google Marketing Platform in 2020, where I covered rich media creative set-up using Google Web Design and Studio to build HTML5 and dynamic creatives.

Work Experience

Currently, I work as a website and application designer for Bionical Solutions. Here, I am expected to wireframe, design and prototype several applications for pharmaceutical clients such as Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sanofi. Here I have learned to develop unique designs whilst maintaining brand guidelines of these brands, and learning how to manipulate assets to create original content. I have also learned how to interpret data, as well as code that is used to link assets and create an easily functioning app/website, and how to strictly keep the user in mind by creating a clear user flow.

One of my most recent work experiences was my time at Debenhams as a digital designer. Here I worked closely with creative directors, leading the visual and layout design for the Debenhams homepage. I designed and developed animations to feature on the social media and responsive website, as well as testing designs and prototypes for desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms. One of my favourite parts of working at Debenhams was the ability to lead the creative direction for all designs within specific events, called 'creatives'.

During my year on placement, I also voluntarily worked as a UX design / User Research Intern for a small tech company called Harmonize. Here I was highly involved in content creation. I also developed UX dashboards to visualize data and information in a logical, legible format for users. In addition to this, I was involved in creating and assessing graphics, motion graphics and marketing strategies to deliver content.
