Pronto
Pronto App Pages
This project is called 'Pronto' which is a UX/UI and illustration project I completed with Sarah Grace, designed to help primary aged children in building their foreign language skills. The app provides a personalised profile, vocabulary based games and a digital letter sending feature to communicate with their pen pal. This visualisation presents a selection of the screens in the app including the login, 'dress-up' room, letter writing and reading technology as well as topic choosing screens. I hadn't previously done any UX/UI work so this was a great opportunity to build this skill.
Pronto - Children Interacting with App
This image presents a visualisation of children interacting with the app to show how it may be used. One of the aims of the concept is to increase social interaction and emotional development. To consolidate their language learning in context, when receiving their pen pals' letters they will arrive with keywords replaced by picture icons. Students are required to choose the correct foreign word to match the icon, revealing the full message before they can translate this into their own language.
Pronto - The Teacher's Portal
This image presents a selection of the screens featured in the teachers' portal. To ensure monitoring of progress and messages, we have created a letter checking portal so all communications are approved before being sent. The screens show how the teacher would interact with the received letters with the option to leave a comment and unlock new topics for the student to work on. They also have a selection of the student's letters and a general class overview.
Pronto Teacher Interaction
This image shows the teachers' engagement with the app. We thought it's important that our hypothetical concept be introduced in schools by the teacher and monitored consistently to ensure safeguarding and track progress. This image depicts the teacher looking at the student overview to see who has completed that week's task and the accuracy of each pupil.
House of Cards Sequential Photo Narrative
My sequential Photo Narrative project was a photography and photo manipulation project designed to test our ability to form a strong narrative through images alone. I chose to create a narrative about a typical family in the form of a pack of cards. The narrative focuses on families being separated during the pandemic and the lack of appreciation we had for this until we were unable to see our loved ones. I edited the card family into various celebrations throughout the year. The main challenge I had with this project was making it look realistic but I found this massively elevated my photoshop skills. The full narrative can be viewed on my portfolio website.
Offcut Event Invitation Front & Back
This project was a branding and experiential design project from Semester One in my final year. I designed an immersive promotional event for my sustainable fashion brand 'Offcut' which invited influencers to upcycle their old clothes into unique pieces. The event featured a variety of environmental installations to highlight the issues around fast fashion culture. The above image is the invitation for the event which uses the graphic themes from the brand as well as the trendy tone of voice I adopted.
Offcut Event Tag Installation
This image visualises the tags from one of the installations in the Offcut experiential event I designed. The idea behind this installation was to have strings of flowers made from scrap fabric hanging down with the tag at the end. On the tags is information about the cost to the planet when a garment is produced as well as details about where the items are predominantly produced and the negative impact this has on the region.
Big Book Example Page
The Big Book project was a group illustration and editorial project from Year 2. I found this was the project that elevated my conceptual and layout skills the most. I was the project manager in this brief, also producing layout designs, colour palettes, some typography and illustrations, and finally putting the whole book together. This taught me about print processes and preparing documents professionally.

Awards
I achieved the Graphic Design award at Peter Symonds College, Winchester. This was awarded in 2019 to highlight my dedication to the subject, hard work and high marks/grades.
Work Experience
My first work experience was a short term placement at the IBM Design Studio in Hursley. I was tasked with designing hypothetical visuals for a work portfolio sharing platform within the company. I went through client interviewing, mind mapping, prototyping and visual designing processes, guided by the IBM professionals. The main challenge I faced was my limited knowledge of Photoshop at the time, however, by the end of the placement I felt far more confident and this inspired me to pursue Graphic Design at university. This highlighted to me that I want to develop branding as a specialism as I really enjoyed creating the various branding elements and prototypes.
