Work Experience
Hawthorne & Heaney
(Aug 2020 - Nov 2020)
Working with Hawthorne and Heaney allowed me to explore and expand on my embroidery skills. I had the opportunity to work on new projects as well as keep on top of their social media pages. With constant communication with clients, I was able to develop my interpersonal skills and learn to work well in a small team. As this placement was during the pandemic I was able to experience working from home.
House of Gharats
(Feb 2021 - May 2021)
Working as a digital print intern this placement allowed me to expand my knowledge of Adobe programs such as photoshop, creating digital designs which would eventually be made into jacquards and digitally printed scarves. As a woven designer, I was able to bring my knowledge of jacquard to help the company expand on their collections, as well as contacting several weaving mills around the UK and Italy in regard to jacquard production. A highlight for me was working on real-time digital print projects which enabled me to improve my time management skills as well as digital design skills as a whole.
