Work Experience
Fernhill Fibre: a working regenerative farm with a vision; to utilise the wool sheared on sight and rediscover the natural fibre as an asset to sheep farming. The experience encompassed a variety of job roles including making products for the shop, grading fleeces, sorting orders and website updates, as well as research work for South West England Fibreshed. The placement was an incredible learning opportunity for raw fibre and the future of textiles.
Studio Ashay: an independent fashion studio and shop founded by owner, designer and maker Donna May Lynch. The in-house studio provided a portal for customers into the behind the scenes of garment construction and the making involved for all clothing available in the shop. In another dynamic placement role, tasks included pattern-cutting for applique, embroidery, and stitch and provided a wonderful insight into a unique fashion business.
