Tackling the threat of acute stress in paramedics holistically, through considered aesthetic and interaction design.

Prototyping

Iterating my concepts in cardboard allowed me to quickly identify which aspects had the potential to be successful. Each tests a separate idea, with 3D printing implemented later in the process.

3D prototyping

Utilising rapid manufacturing techniques allowed me to produce a highly interactive prototype that in turn allowed me to engage users with the full experience. Cleaning, refilling, reloading, and storage could all be refined through the use of this model.

Testing

Proof of concept came with engaging users directly. Here the 3D printed prototype, true to scale, fits perfectly in the door bin of an ambulance.

Surface Modelling in Gravity Sketch

Designed entirely within Gravity Sketch, this single-seat electric hypercar concept makes use of a wide variety of the features available in the software. A virtual mannequin was used to ensure the proportions remained grounded in reality and using the ability to position me within the interior, I optimised the layout of controls without the need to create a physical interior mock-up.

Barbican Data Security Hub

The Barbican Security Hub uses machine learning to monitor data transmissions in the home to determine whether or not a device is being controlled by an unauthorised party. Cloud-based databases allow the hub to identify problem devices and prevent the exploit from becoming widespread.
