My drawing practise seeks to engage with the visual language as a way to communicate the unexplainable. For me, the mindful and intimate drawing process allows me to respond to and represent transient and ethereal moments such as smell, sound, touch, and sight. Because of this, I am able to understand a deeper spiritual grounded connection I have with the space, and I express this through intuitive mark-making and energetic gestures to provide an elucidatory dream-like atmosphere within my works. I am interested in exploring the different ways I engage with memory; action, image, unconscious and collective, from the relationship between the present moment of drawing to tapping into the past in order to reflect and connect with the emotional association behind the specific place.
