Design for me has often been about provoking a message or a moment of reflection on social or environmental issues, whether thats through UX/UI design, experiential, illustration etc.

BBC Lift Off educational app

BBC Lift Off is a space-themed educational app designed to help children with learning difficulties and ensure no child is left behind when it comes to education. This project was done in collaboration with Annabelle Cole with whom I thoroughly enjoyed working. We both utilised our key skills within this project, as whilst I focused on the UX/UI design of the app, Annabelle focused on the illustration and animation. I feel communication and team working skills were key to this project, in order to build a project we were both proud of, which I feel we achieved.

BBC Lift Off interface for younger children

BBC Lift Off is an inclusive learning app for 3-11-year-olds and was designed in response to the D&AD New Blood Awards BBC brief. The app has many features such as AR mode which brings learning outside the classroom, parent page which allows parents/ guardians to check their child's progress and interactive tools allowing difficult topics to be displayed visually and help with homework. The interface also adapts and grows with the child's age and knowledge.

BBC Lift Off Learning style quiz

This image depicts the learning style quiz which is undertaken by the child at the start with the aid of a parent/guardian to determine their learning style and declare if they have any learning difficulties. By determining this, Lift Off can turn on certain toggles to aid learning. For example, for kinaesthetic learners, the toggle will suggest the interactive tools and if a child is dyslexic, then overlays and the reading ruler will be in place.
