Work Experience
Rapture and Wright - Interior Screen Print Studio:
This placement was for three months and was based in the Cotswolds. Working here gave me a great insight into a studio environment whose main focus was Screen Print. During my time here, I had a variety of roles including, admin, stock taking, cutting fabric and wallpaper samples, assisting with photoshoots, screen printing and Photoshop edits.
Amanda Kelly - Textile Design Studio for Fashion:
I was at this placement for three months in London. My role here was mainly administrative, photographing and editing designs as well as styling fabrics. During my time here, I gained great knowledge of the fashion industry. It was interesting seeing the process of how a studio was run. In a fast-paced environment, it meant I gained transferable skills, such as time management and organisation, which I have moved forward into my final year.
Fairborn & Wolf - Print Studio:
I worked for this London based studio for four months doing design remotely. This placement helped me develop further skills in drawing and painting. I would have to apply my knowledge in colour, composition, shape and scale and would daily communicate with the designers. This was a good insight into what it would be like to work for a design company and their approach to fashion design.
