I am an innovative and experimental print designer who likes to think outside the box. I always endeavour to challenge traditional approaches to printed textile design.
Final year project
Make love, not war
Lover's Leap
four-layer coloured VAT screenprint on a black direct dyed natural cotton drill. A print inspired by the rugged coastline of Guernsey and intended to be an oversized drill overcoat.
The Guernsey jumper
Expantex text print on cream Guernsey jumper and opaque pigment text print on sleeves made from up-cycled military camouflage trousers. Guernsey jumpers have been made in the same traditional style and worn by islanders since the 17th century; they have become iconic for being warm, long-lasting and for offering protection from the elements.
Pleinmont Point scarf
One-layer screenprint on grey nylon windbreaker fabric. Wadded, machine embossed, and then hand sewn into pockets to construct a puffa scarf. The print is inspired by the brutalist military concrete fortifications which litter the coastline of Guernsey, and the inspiration for the shape of the scarf actually came from some discarded plastic packaging which I used to create a prototype.
Liberation
One-layer blue pigment print on perforated green military surplus fabric from Raeburn. A print that celebrates the landscape of Guernsey and the islands' liberation from German occupation in 1945.
Love Harry
One-layer screenprint on black silk donated by Alexander McQueen. This silk scarf is printed with the text from the heartwarming love letters from 'The Marley Collection' (Guernsey Island Archives) which are a first-hand record of the love story between Husband and wife Harry & Martha Crane who were separated across the globe as a result of the occupation. This silk scarf is designed as a keepsake; to be worn close to the heart of a loved one.
Design development
Digital photographic collage inspired by the German military fortifications, designed to be an oversized raincoat.

Work Experience
Whilst being stranded on Guernsey during the pandemic I was able to undertake a remote drawing internship with Fairbairn & Wolf Studio (June - August 2020) where I gained a valuable insight into designing prints for the commercial fashion industry. I was able to hone my drawing skills to fit daily set briefs from the company.
