I am a designer with a great interest in research, visualisation and user-centred design

A sense of control

Even if scalp cooling isn't effective at preventing hair loss, users say it gives them a sense of control when, otherwise, they have very little. Making the product more accessible to everyone can only provide benefits for chemotherapy patients.

Better LFT - A lateral flow Test that's better for our environment

The better LFT is a lateral flow test kit that has an environmental impact reduction of 94% and includes a test strip that uses only 3% of the material, by mass, of a conventional test.
The improved test kit uses no disposable plastic packaging and includes reusable swabs, test tubes and an eyedropper bottle. Containing 28 test strips, the kit only needs replenishing once for every four times a conventional kit would, cutting down impact from transport and packaging.

Easier to use, manufacture and recycle

As well as being better for the environment, the kit is also designed for mass manufacture; it can be manufactured completely autonomously from large sheets of paper, repulpable adhesive and paper immunoassay strips, resulting in a fully recyclable test strip.

Coffee Machine Prototype

The AeroPress Prototype is a fully automatic coffee machine built from the ground up. The system, hardware, mechanical function and code were all developed from scratch to produce a coffee machine, oriented around the AeroPress method.
The machine included an integrated grinder, heater and pumping mechanism that would produce a cup of coffee from just a few presses.

Freshly Ground

I worked with others on this project and took major personal responsibilities in developing the hardware, system and overall function of the coffee machine. The process gave me great experience in functional prototyping while helping to develop my electronics and coding skills.

Work Experience

I have spent time working for F.A. Porsche in Berlin, working alongside the Red Dot Design team of the year to develop products that would maintain the prestige and reputation of the Porsche brand. During this time I held significant responsibility in producing and communicating concepts to clients, for the most part, being the sole designer on the project at hand. This helped me develop myself as a designer; working in a new country, surrounded by talented designers, only helped build confidence and interest in the profession.

Prior to working at Porsche, I spent time as a designer working for Jake Phipps Design, designing sculptural, luxury furniture that looked beautiful in both a gallery and a home. This responsibility meant developing new finishes and manufacturing techniques and exploring the theatre of how we interact with our surroundings.
The work included developing a cabinet that would fold open like insects wings, tables that looked like scarred crags and chairs that appeared to be giant floating balloons of stainless steel. These new approaches to design helped me develop a love for the creativity in design and how exploring bizarre ideas could result in curiously engaging pieces.
