Triumph Design Awards 2018 – Finalist // 2018 finalist for my project redesigning a traditional wrist splint utilising 3D modelling techniques to improve fit and comfort.
Vex Robotics World Championships 2018 // Alongside my team, HBS The Purge, I represented the UK in attending the VEX Robotics World Championships in Kentucky (USA). VEX Robotics is a global robotics company that supplies a new game each year, tasking students to design, build and program a robot to compete against other teams in an engineering challenge.
Vex Robotics National Champion 2018 // Awarded the VEX Robotics Excellence Award at the 2018 UK National Championships. The highest regarded award in VEX Robotics is awarded to teams that excel in all areas of designing, building and programming a competitive robot. Over the course of the season, my team placed 1st in 4 regional tournaments and was presented multiple design and programming awards.
Triumph Design Awards 2017 – Finalist & Committee Prize // Awarded the Committee Prize for my project '2pointe0', a redesign of the traditional ballet pointe shoe. Work Experience
Pavegen Systems Ltd. - Design Engineer // A one-year work placement at Pavegen Systems Ltd. in the role of Design Engineer, supporting all teams in the company with design and technical materials. Working in a self-managed team of two, I developed excellent time management and organisational skills. A high level of proficiency in the Adobe Suite was necessary when undertaking tasks such as app design, vital company documentation and high-quality client-facing visuals. Having the opportunity to communicate with clients across all sectors enabled me to develop strong communication skills and gain a wider understanding of design in a business setting.
VEX Robotics - Assistant Mentor // I assisted senior mentors with organising regional competitions as part of the VEX Robotics program. Working with students from a variety of backgrounds enabled me to develop strong interpersonal and communication skills. As a team leader, I ran workshop sessions for younger students, advancing both my leadership and problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment.
Integrity Design Management Consultancy // A week-long placement working alongside consultants on a live wayfinding project for Sainsbury’s.
