The Repurpose of Festival Tent - Uppcycle
Uppcycle
Uppcycle - 250,000 tents are left annually at festivals, whether still functioning or not they get sent to landfills. In response to this, I created the concept Uppcycle to make use of these materials.
The pannier is designed to waste as little material as possible and use of a range of elements from the tents including the fibreglass poles, groundsheets, tent flysheets and fittings.
Uppcycle - Backpack
To make the pannier as easy to carry off the bike as well as on; it has been designed to have a removable centre which can be worn as a backpack.
Indigo Revival
Producing denim is an unsustainable process as it uses a large amount of water to grow cotton and the indigo dying process uses harmful chemicals. To combat this I created Indigo Revival where children’s jeans are made from old adult jeans.
Uppcycle - Pocket Extension
If extra space is needed in the pannier the side pocket can be opened from the underneath to release an extra extension to the pocket.
Indigo Revival -
These jeans are designed to be durable and grow with the child to allow them to be used for many years. Once too short a seam in the jeans can be undone to create extra length; if this is not enough they can be cut to make shorts.
Indigo Revival - Packaging
To be as environmentally friendly as possible packaging has been kept simple and easy to recycle.

Awards
In 2019 I received the Starpack Gold Award and the Pentaplast Sponsor Award, Runner, Up. This was awarded to me for designing food packaging to help reduce waste. By limiting food packaging to the correct portions we prevent any from being leftover or wasted.
Work Experience
I spent my placement year at FIRA International where I was an Ergonomics Assistant. This job entailed testing and evaluating furniture against standards, which I found developed my understanding of how to produce well-rounded designs.
I have worked at Sports Direct for 3 years where over time I stepped into a managerial role which involved training and supervising new staff, organising the shop floor and problem solving to help fulfil customers' needs.
