Reducing Deaths from Opioid Overdose
Major Project- Opioid Overdose Prevention
The Opioid Crisis claimed more than 75,000 lives in the US alone in 2021- and this number is only going up.
My Major Project is a product to reduce overdose deaths by enabling faster identification of symptoms and quicker administration of Naloxone, an opioid antidote.
Developed alongside professionals across the fields of healthcare and addiction support, this system consists of a wearable band that detects the warning signs of overdose and alerts emergency services and close contacts, and a redesigned, connected Naloxone nasal spray.
Naloxone Nasal Spray
In the event of an Opioid Overdose, timely use of Naloxone saves lives. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that can reverse the cause of overdose almost immediately but is often hard to locate, difficult to use, and bulky to carry. This redesigned Naloxone spray allows precise, metered dose titration in a more user-friendly package. A low-power Bluetooth tracker in the base of the unit also allows the spray to be located using a loud noise when the wearable product detects a suspected overdose.
Wearable Overdose Tracker
Identification of Overdose is supported by a wearable tracker which detects changes in vital signs that might indicate an overdose. This can then contact emergency services and close contacts. The wearable comes apart for easy cleaning and can be swapped for a fully charged unit at needle exchange facilities.
DayTripper- Virtual School Trips Viewer
School Trips are an invaluable teaching resource but can be hard to organise for many, due to difficulties with cost, location and accessibility for less able students. DayTripper is designed to fill in the gaps between the experiential, adventurous nature of physical school trips and the ease of Virtual School Trip experiences. It uses a combination of AR and VR in a modular viewer to allow children to explore virtual environments, collect AR artefacts, and take snapshots of their journey from the safety and ease of the classroom.
monica app design
monica is an app to encourage exploration and streamline travel for people living in vans full-time. It simplifies the process of travel planning, taking into account the need for constant refilling of water, electricity, and other resources on the move. Starting from market research into energy usage in "modern-day nomads", Monica was developed through wireframes, site mapping, bodystorming and high-fidelity prototyping.
IDMP Prototyping
My IDMP project has been supported throughout with a range of low to medium fidelity prototyping.

Work Experience
I spent my placement year as an intern at SharkNinja in London, working across Ninja's Advanced Development and New Product Development teams to bring innovative kitchen appliances to market. This developed my skills in prototyping, testing and hands-on problem solving, and widened my knowledge across the design process- from early concept generation to communicating with suppliers.
